If you know us, you know we’re happiest with a suitcase packed and a loose plan in mind. Our love of travel has taken us to some pretty special places, but nowhere feels quite as right for this moment as the Byron Hinterland.

There’ll be champagne to pop and one big celebration under the stars.
All we need now is your beautiful faces.

Asked & Answered

We feel incredibly lucky to have friends and family joining us from near and far. No matter the distance, your effort to be here means everything.

To make your planning a little easier, we’ve included some useful details below. If there’s anything else you’re unsure about, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Where is the Wedding?

We’re tying the knot in the magical Byron Hinterland, Northern New South Wales — at a secret location that you’ll discover on the day!

To make the journey part of the experience, we’ve arranged a double-decker bus to transport guests to and from the venue. Pick-up and drop-off points will be in Byron Bay and Bangalow.

As parking at the venue is extremely limited (and mostly unavailable), we kindly ask all guests to hop aboard the bus. Trust us — it’ll be part of the fun!

How do we get to Byron Bay?

Flying to Byron Bay from outside Australia:

If you are flying in from overseas, the best option is to fly to Brisbane International Airport and then drive to Byron Bay.

Alternatively, fly to Sydney International Airport and then fly to Gold Coast or Ballina Airports (approx. 1 hour flight), then drive to Byron Bay.

Flying to Byron Bay from within Australia:

Fly to Gold Coast or Ballina Airports and then drive to Byron Bay.

Drive: Brisbane to Byron Bay: 2+ hours
Drive: Gold Coast to Byron Bay: 50 mins
Drive: Ballina to Byron Bay: 30 mins

All airports should have shuttles to and from Byron Bay. If you need help with shuttles, please let us know.

Do I need a visa to visit Australia?

Yes — most international visitors do need a visa to enter Australia.

We recommend checking your eligibility and applying ahead of time through the official Australian Government website:

👉 Apply for a visa here

If you’re unsure which visa is right for you, the site includes a helpful Visa Finder tool. For most tourists, the Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) or Visitor Visa will be the best option.

What time does the ceremony start?

The ceremony will begin at 3:00pm (NSW time).

Guests will be arriving at the venue around 2:15/2:30pm via the shuttle bus. Upon arrival, you’ll have time to settle in, soak up the surroundings, and enjoy a welcome drink or two before the festivities begin.

How do we get to the Wedding?

We’ve organised a double decker bus to take you to and from the wedding venue — no need to worry about directions or parking!

Pick-up options:

Byron Bay: Byron Bay Surf Club at 20 Bay Street — arrive by 1:30pm sharp (NSW time)

Bangalow: George Reading Building at 4/5 Lismore Rd— arrive by 1:45pm sharp (NSW time)

Return trip:

The shuttle will leave the venue at 10:00pm sharp (NSW time) and drop guests back in Byron Bay and Bangalow.

Please be on time — the buses run to a strict schedule so we can get everyone there (and back) smoothly!

Can we drive to the Wedding Venue?

No.

Unfortunately there is extremely limited parking options at the Wedding Venue.

If you wish to drive to the Wedding Venue, we suggest driving to Bangalow, parking there and then getting the shuttle bus to and from the Wedding Venue.

Should I stay in Byron Bay more than one night?

Yes — we highly recommend it!

The wedding is on Thursday, and the shuttle won’t return to Byron Bay until around 10:30pm, so staying that night is a good idea.

On Friday, we’re catching up for recovery drinks and lunch at the Beach Hotel Byron Bay — the perfect chance to unwind, share stories, and soak up the good vibes. We suggest staying Friday night too, if you can swing it.

Of course, while we’d love to have you with us for as long as possible, we completely understand if you’re only able to join for the wedding itself.

Is there a dress code?

Think coastal cocktail — polished and party-ready with a summery edge.

The ceremony will be held outdoors, so we recommend dressing comfortably for the weather.

It’s a summer celebration, so feel free to wear bright, bold colours if you’d like — think sunshiney and vibrant. Of course, it’s not required. Most importantly, bring your best energy and your dancing shoes!

What will the weather be like?

December in Byron Bay is warm, sunny, and beautiful — perfect for a celebration! Expect temperatures to range from around 21°C to 29°C (70°F to 85°F).

Byron is famous for its beaches and laid-back coastal vibe, so don’t forget to pack your bikinis, boardshorts, sunnies, and sunscreen — especially if you’re planning to stay a few extra days.

Are children welcome?

While we absolutely adore the little ones in our lives, we’ve chosen to make this an adults-only celebration.

We hope you understand — and see it as the perfect excuse to let your hair down, relax, and enjoy a night off!
